What the blocked-server list is
Mojang maintains a list of server addresses at https://sessionserver.mojang.com/blockedservers. It is a plain text response: one SHA-1 hash per line, nothing else. When it was fetched for this article it held 4,318 entries.
Because it ships as hashes rather than domains, the list cannot be read. It can only be tested. You cannot download it and see who is on it; you can only ask “is this specific address on it?” and get a yes or no.
How to test an address
The check hashes the address, then progressively replaces leading labels with a wildcard, and looks up each result:
- Hash the full address. For this server that is
play.2paws1job.org. - Hash the wildcard forms in turn:
*.2paws1job.org, then*.org. - Look each hash up in the list. A match at any step is a block.
Two consequences are worth knowing. A wildcard entry covers every subdomain at once, so a server can be blocked without its apex domain ever appearing. And because entries are added and removed, any published result is a snapshot: this one is dated September 4, 2026, and so should every other one you read.
How anarchy servers ended up here
Two events set this up, and both are documented by the servers themselves.
In December 2025, 2b2t updated its terms. Its own Transparency on Recent Changes post, dated December 19, 2025, says the change was made “to comply with an official notice from Mojang / Microsoft.” The updated terms prohibit hateful symbols and hateful speech, and games press including GamesRadar reported a chat wordfilter arriving with it.
6b6t took the other path. On July 17, 2026 it published Minecraft Banned 6b6t. We Will Never Add Rules., confirming a blacklist on July 15, 2026 and stating: “6b6t will never add gameplay rules. Not for Microsoft. Not for Mojang. Not for anyone.” It released a Fabric mod of its own and reported 250+ players online within 48 hours.
So the same policy produced two outcomes: a server that changed its terms and stayed reachable with an ordinary client, and a server that did not and is now on the list.

The 6b6t entries cover its wildcard form and its play subdomain rather than the bare domain, which is a good illustration of why a check has to test the wildcards and not just the address you were handed.
“No entry found” means exactly that, for the addresses tested, on that date. It is not a promise about tomorrow, and it is not a statement about anything else that might stop a connection.
What this changes for players
Choosing an anarchy server used to come down to queue, resets, rules, and which clients get in. Since July 2026 there is a fifth question: does joining need anything beyond a normal Minecraft client?
That question is now worth asking out loud, because the answer differs between servers for the first time. It is also the one claim on a server’s own website that is easiest to check independently, which is why the result belongs next to the marketing rather than inside it.
